So I was pissed that I missed last nights meeting. I awoke this morning wondering what kind of things were discussed how many great points or ideas I probably missed.
As I got to the office and turned my computer on to get Dr. Stan's e-mail saying this

Hi Guys,
I've been mulling over last night at Judson's. It wasn't a typical philosophy meeting but there definetly was alot of passion flying around the room. Here's my impressions:
1. Some of you guys would consider me a mixer but I will do anything necessary to get the person into my office. I'll use acupuncture, weight loss, massage or fear if that's what it takes to make a connection to a person. If that means I have to scare the shit out of them, I have no problem with that. Once I get them into MY World/office I'll tell them the subluxation story. I think the atlas/axis is king but I don't beat people over the head with it. Innate in some people may not be ready for lifetime care. I present the info, they make their choice. If their choice is symptom care that's what I give them. I'm a healer and I don't want to close any doors. I've been in Ct. for 14 years and have seen many people "see the light" after several episodes of just symptom care. If I would have closed the door they never would have had a chance to get "it". Jesus never gave up on a sinner, neither will I.
2. I'm not telling other people what to do, just what works for me. Remember that your practice is YOUR WORLD, you make the rules there that work for you. There is no right or wrong with this. So long as your intention is to apply the Law of Life as described by B.J. thru the principle of ChiropracTIC; innate will be flowing and you'll see magic in your practice and life. If you want to drive to California I don't think it matters which highway you take; only that we all get there eventually in our own unique way.
3. What matter to me is that we're all doing principled chiropractic. How's this for something we can all agree on:
"The ONE FINAL AND LAST WORD in the use of any technique is: DOES IT INCREASE OR DECREASE QUANTITY FLOW of mental impulse nerve force, impeded and obstructed by a vertebral subluxation?" "Glory of Going On" page 129
By technic I don't just mean adjusting. If the intention behind our marketing and patient communications is to get the maximum number of people we can physically handle under our care with the intention of removing subluxations to increase nerve flow, to maximize human potential and restore life; I don't have a problem with with how we do it. How's that for a run on sentence, would B.J. be proud of me? It's the intention behind our actions that is crucial and makes the end justify the means. I would argue that our intention is actually a manifestation of love. What could be wrong with that?
I had a great time Monday night. Thanks to all,
Stan Dezjot
I basically do the same thing and have the same belief, Stan. I think no matter how you get the message across the
INTENTION should be increase nerve flow, decrease subluxation, and do it for the love and service of the people in our community. Last night, a friend of mine reminded me of (while I was bitching to him about some patient BS) a mantra that he always says to himself when he gets unfocused: "
Love and Service". He'd always say to me, "love and service dude, thats what it's all aboot." I said, "I need to use that to re-ground me when I get caught up in alot of the BS", and he agreed.
Back to this morning... So I go to my break room and poor myself a hot cup of coffee, and sit down at my desk, log into the Bobs forum, and I read Dr. Seyed's post about the meeting last night. Clearly talking about what type of communication and intention we have with patients. Then I look down to see this:
I'm sure some of you have seen that quote before, but that was a 1st for these eyes. That was definitely an innate moment for me...and thus my new Sig.
Be Well,
Jim
