The way in which the Dr. Mitch Mally seminars are being advertised is in direct conflict with the mission statement of the CCC. The following is the mission statement:
"It is the intent of the Connecticut Chiropractic Council to protect and promote the basic science, philosophy and art of chiropractic in Connecticut. It is the Council`s intent to educate the public and safeguard their right to seek the doctor of their choice. The Council is committed to serving chiropractors by keeping them informed about issues that affect their practice and the people they serve. The Council is dedicated to provide direction for the development of subluxation - based chiropractic and its exposure to every citizen of the great state of Connecticut!"
The Dr. Mally seminar is being billed as "the seminar that could make the difference between getting them better and not."
As a proud member of the CCC I find this to be counterproductive to the mission. Yes, it is possible that you could help someone by manipulating their elbow, but don't call it a chiropractic adjustment. You could also help by carrying their groceries for them, but don't call that chiropractic. We should all know that there is debate among chiropractor's, especially important to those that "protect and promote" the basics of it, as to whether or not extremity manipulation is really adjusting. We also recognize that there is significant reason for concern regarding the tendency of many to amalgamate with medicine. As we move away from being specialists and towards being "wholeopaths" I should remind the CCC membership as Dr. Sid Williams has tried to remind us all that specialists are "Doctors with a very specific field of scientifically defined expertise having the potential to change the world."
If "it is the council's intent to educate the public and safeguard their right to seek the doctor of their choice", then we should realize that this option of outside-in therapeutic allopathy is a choice that the public is already overly familiar with and that such promotion in fact jeopardizes the patients rights to choose between them and us.
When we allow these small misteps, minor miscalculations in judgement to go uncontested, our goals becomes less attainable. If we are to send an astronaut a long distance and he is to precisely find his destination, we must show great foresight. So it is with chiropractic. Our patients are ALWAYS better after an adjustment.
-Dr. Christian Reilly

Great post! you are 100% correct. Reconnecting man/women the physical to man/women the spiritual is what a pure, specific, scientific chiropractic adjustment does. Nothing less and remember we do not control the outcome either!!!!
