As you may know I had to let my license lapse because I was without funds
as a result of an ongoing fight with post polio syndrome and mx surgeries. As of
June 2007 to this point in time funds came and went do to financial
obligations so I was not able to use monies for my lic. Plus SSD does not
provide much to do many things!
In the Spring of 2008 I contacted the Bureau of Rehab services here in
Ansonia. They are a part of CT. Gov. for each city to help those such as
myself enter into the work force as viable citizens. At the time of my
first mtg. with them I was down and did not know if I would ever get back to
chiropractic so we decided to see what and for how long I could do certain
jobs. Well I knew Dr.Syed previously and knew he had an office so I made a
suggestion to use Dr. Syed's office as my trial work experience.
Everything went smoothly up until august 07. When Sept. 07 entered I asked
during a mtg. with BRS I want my license back and this is what I need, 48
CEUs and monies for Lic. and the CEUs. My BRS counselor stated that that would
be good since this is what they do. She asked m why now when I started with
BRS I felt that I was not able to do anything with chiropractic and now I am
willing to try. I told her that at the time that was how I felt, but now I know I
can accomplish going back.
I gave my counselor the web sites I used previously for my CEUs and gave
her the web site of CT.GOV <http> for lic. of chiropractic to show
her what was needed. I mentioned at the time that I do not have much time left. As of June 31st 09
I will lose my lic. to practice e chiropractic.
Well brothers it is know march 09 from Sept 08 till march 09 all I had was;
am I marketable as a chiropractor if the job with Dr.Syed fails, can I do
chiropractic, we need a doctors note stating what I can do. After leaving
that mtg in early Feb 09 I was devastated. Who are they saying am I marketable,
can I do the work?!!! The counselor's supv. has been playing "lets do the waiting game, then by
June we don't have to deal with this" my counselor feels that is what her super
is doing.
Every time I talk about my lic. I get another hurdle to jump through.
BRS is supposed to help people achieve freedom and get back on their feet
again. Well I have been held down all along with just a taste of freedom!.
They wanted the apartment I live in to be handicap assessable and wanted to
pay for everything now that monies are tight for the state they will not do
any work unless I am wheelchair bound. Because I can walk the want me to
use the front door of the house to enter and leave when I asked about fires in
the front and noting that the back has many stairs to go down my counselor
stated you can go through the front door.
These are just some of the obstacles I have come up against since 08. I do
not know what else to do. I have contacted the advocate for BRS who is looking
into my case, I have emailed my state senator, I have emailed my
congresswoman DE Laura all with no answers back.
Everyone please contact your reps, state and gov tell them the travesty of
justice is transpiring. Especially when Obama wants people back to work I
kept down collecting SSD and given chances to do work that BRS deems advisable
and cheaper than being what I am a chiropractor.
If all fails after I will practice my profession and go to jail if
necessary
as well.
Thank you
