I sent an e-mail to Dr. Rob Kessinger (who many of us saw speak at DE in Aug.) from Knee Chest Upper Cervical Specific in an effort to open a dialogue about getting some structured Upper cervical instruction for the Band of Brothers.
He said his group may be interested in doing a series in the North East.
I am going to call and speak to him so we can explore the idea a little more, but he wanted to know more about what I was thinking.
SO what is everyone's take on this?
1) Is Knee Chest something people have an interest in?
2) Is this something we want to keep small and private, or should we open it up to the council and contact a school so we might be able to get CEU Credits?
3) Would you still attend if you had to travel (In case it is not in CT?)
Let me hear some feed back so I can accurately convey what we would like to do when I speak with Dr. Kessinger.
Docs "in" so far:
1) Rob Shaw 2)Jim Pierson 3)Brian Nardi 4)Tim Malton 5)Dawn Tobin 6)Nate Cintron 7)Mike Koester
Stan Dezjot 9) K. Reilly 10) C. Reilly 11) Judson 12) Pete Braglia 13) Matt Paterna 14) Rich Samoska

Hi Jim,
I would like to go. Travel is OK so long as you mean driving and not flying. I'd rather go to the Boston area and not NYC if he wants to do a big city.

That's actually why I wanted to get some feed back as this is a tricky situation as far as a venues go. CT works out well because it is fairly central to NJ NY and all of New England. MY guess is that he usually schedules these at colleges for the use of view boxes and adjusting tables, and space to seat 30 or so people. So doing something like this at a hotel would be tough
My thinking is if we could sweet talk Steve into letting us use his office, we could fly Dr. Kessinger into Hartford, and only be a short drive to Newington. We would also have all the things we need as far as tables and view boxes

In Bridgeports defense...they did have one knee chest table in the adjusting lab (none in the clinic). However, the knee chest table looked like it was fashioned out of the cushions from a '78 Winnebago...old school. I e-mailed Kessinger last night, and probably going to talk to him tonight and tell him we have a good amount of interest and a venue

Any chance of working some CCE credits in? (please don't bust my balls for asking!) We could have Kessinger stay for a week at Judson's and be good for credits for the next 4 years!

I'm sure we could, I'll have to make some phone calls and see how the process works.no shame in asking aboot the credits. I would just rather get them from an upper cervical guy than billing and coding or something like that.
I'm thinking tom paterna would be a place to start since the council usually handles CEU.
If anyone has any input, let me know.

No defense taken...i am sure the knee chest table you saw was probably a Gonstead Knee Chest table..hence all the cloth and padding...i will tell you knee chest upper cervical guys are pretty hardcore , specific and fired up ....Kessinger is definitelhy fired up...we would get a great group out of this one...

So I spoke with Dr. K yesterday and he is really stoked that there is so many people that want to learn and master upper cervical work. When I mentioned our group to him, he thought I meant 3-4 people....when I said I already have 13 he was surprised and was even considering having to bring a 2nd person to make sure we have all the attention we need.
He said it was certainly doable to have him come up and teach us the KCUCS Analysis and technique, and said it would be great if we could use Steve's office as it would have all the components we would need, and it's close proximity to a major airport makes it even better.
He is going to e-mail me shortly with potential dates. and from some of the ones he was throwing around, it sounds like he is ready to go on this ASAP.
He mentioned probably doing 3 modules at a minimum, and if there was an interest for more we could discuss it. However he was pretty adamant aboot learning the neurology, X-ray analysis, AND adjusting. Specifically because, as BJ mentioned, C1-C2 has the greatest potential for things to go well, when it's adjusted properly, and the biggest potential for disaster when it isn't.
I will post some dates as soon as he gets back to me.
As of yet, we haven't discussed:
1) CEU Credits
2) Cost
3) or "marketing" this to people outside our Band of Brothers group
I'll talk to him aboot it next time
